Ronix Advanced 29" Speed Series Foil Setup
The Advanced 29″ Speed Series is engineered for riders who demand a blend of performance, stability, and control. With thinner, lower-drag wing profiles, refined laminates, and optimized geometry, this setup strikes a perfect balance between speed and predictability.
System Overview
- Speed front wings in 1130 cm² / 1330 cm² / 1530 cm²
- Speed 180 cm² stabilizer
- Pulse 29″ mast (hybrid blend of carbon and alloy)
- Shadow carbon link fuselage (39 cm)
- Mod 84 foil board (3’9″ or 4’2″)
Why This Setup Matters
This setup bridges the gap between Ronix’s Balance and High Aspect lines. It gives a bit more stability and forgiveness than their pure high-aspect designs, while still maintaining crisp speed and responsive glide. The reduced chord width and thinner airfoil shape lower drag, but the materials and laminates are tuned with slightly lower modulus to help soften transitions and enhance control.
Ronix also added a concave running through the bottom of the front wing to help retain speed even during slower flights or in flat-water sections. This feature helps carry momentum when you’d otherwise lose it.
The new **Pulse** mast is a middle ground between their smooth **Fluid** mast and their high-performance **Velo** mast — combining twist control, rigidity, and responsiveness. It doesn’t match Velo’s top speed in a straight line, but it gives tighter turning performance and more flexibility for riders pushing boundaries.
Key Benefits
- Better Speed / Lift Balance: Thinner wing profiles maintain glide efficiency while the lower modulus materials help make control easier.
- Carve-Friendly Handling: The Speed stabilizer offers a blend of quick direction changes and more flow when trimming.
- Improved Momentum Retention: Concave bottom in the front wing helps keep your speed in hangtime and at low speeds.
- Adjustable & Modular: Comes with a board (Mod 84) in multiple lengths and a linkage system to tune your setup.
Tech & Construction
- Autoclave Manufacturing & Spread-Tow Carbon: High-end build processes ensure stiffness, strength, and lightweight control.
- Hybrid Pulse Mast: Carbon/alloy composite designed for reliable stiffness and responsive feel without going extreme.
- Link Fuselage: Streamlined and rigid, acting as a precise bridge linking mast, wing, and stabilizer.
- Mod 84 Board: Designed for low swing weight, responsive flow, and efficient recovery on landing.
Ronix MOD 84 Flyweight Pro
The Flyweight Pro is engineered for riders seeking a balanced, fluid ride with minimal swing weight and maximum drive. Its lightweight shape carries momentum forward, delivering tighter turns and longer glides with reduced drag.
Built with a thicker profile and a deep central V running through the middle, the board features an exaggerated bevel on the outer edges that deflects water immediately upon touchdown. This combination allows you to initiate forward momentum even after contacting the water, making transitions smoother and more efficient.
Features
- Available in 3′9″ and 4′2″ lengths
- 10″ foil track with industry-standard 3.5″ spacing
- Thicker profile with deep V / channel bottom and exaggerated bevel for enhanced water deflection
- Flyweight Pro Construction — a lightweight design with reactive response, blending high-end surfboard techniques
- Blended EVA Traction Pad — hybrid foam/rubber compound with machined grooves for grip and comfort
- Handmade via robotic machining to exact tolerances
- Lava Resin — high-temperature resin for durability under heat stress
Benefits of Each Size
- 3′9″ Model: Offers the most lift, quicker response, higher attack angle, and more power while pumping.
- 4′2″ Model: Better for deep-water starts, greater stability, control in choppy water, and a smoother ride overall.
